Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno State has reconstituted a new management board for El-kanemi warriors football club.

This was conveyed in a statement issued by the club’s Secretary, Tahiru Bala on Friday, 18th of October, 2024.

The reconstituted board according to the letter will be chaired by Mustapha Ibrahim Mainu of Ramat polytechnic, with Alhaji Tahiru Bala as the club secretary.

Other members of the board are Waziri Isa, Usman Mohammed Zumami, Ibrahim Mohammed, Representative of Police Commissioner, and Alhaji Maliki Mohammed.

The statement reads: “The board reconstitution was approved by the Executive Governor of Borno state, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum and communicated by secretary to the Borno state Government, Bukar Tijani.

“According to the letter of appointment/ Notification presented to the board chairman secretary and members of the new board, their appointment was based on their unalloyed support and commitment to the growth of Elkanemi warriors football club and development of sports in the state.Subsequently, the chairman and members of the board received their appointment letters from Borno state Commissioner of youth, sports and poverty Alleviation, Comrade Sainna Buba in a brief meeting on Friday, 18th of October, 2024 at the club secretariat, Bama Road GRA, Maiduguri.

The Commissioner, Comrade Sainna Buba charged the chairman and other members of the board on unity of purpose towards uplifting the standard of the team.

Speaking at the occasion, chairman, Borno state FA and executive member NFF, Chairman match Commissioners appointment committee of the NFF, CAF and FIFA match commissioner, Alhaji Babagana Kalli, urger the board to be united and avoid acts that can jeopardize the development of the club.

The former secretary of the warriors, Alhaji Bura Mustapha in his remarks, inform the appointees that he is always open to contributing to the success of the board and Elkanemi in particular.

Responding to all the speakers, the Elkanemi warriors, Chairman, Mustapha Ibrahim Mainu praised the Borno state Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum for the trust and confidence reposed in the board.

He also commended the Borno sports commissioner, Sainna Buba, for his usual support.
