The New Nigeria People’s Party says it has rectified all the mistakes and errors they experienced in the 2023 general elections at a stakeholders meeting held in Maiduguri.

According to them, the year 2025 marks a new dawn for the party in Borno State as its members restrategize ahead of 2027.

NNPP State Secretary Ibrahim Kyari noted that the party has changed and replaced some of its executive members in the following positions: Mallam Baba Musa as chairman of the party alongside new chairmen across all the 27 local government areas.

NNPP 2023 gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Umar Alkali Nasco, says the stakeholders meeting shows that there is steadfastness in the party, as party members unite under the strong leadership in place.

Nasco added that people are going to see a robust NNPP henceforth, while declaring his interest to contest for the governorship position for the second time, come 2027.

“We are coming in for the second time to campaign graciously, contest, and win the 2027 election.”

He advised citizens not to trade their votes for money, sachets of spaghetti, and wrappers, adding that their votes are their only chance to develop Borno for the better.

Aisha Ramat expressed her interest in vying for the position of House of Representatives.

“I will empower women, amplify their voices, safeguard their rights, end Gender-Based Violence (GBV), and bring positive changes,” Aisha emphasised.

Representatives of zones A, B, and C and other party stalwarts pledged their support to Nasco’s leadership.

11 decampees from the All Progressives Congress (APC) were inducted into the NNPP.

The new party chairman received the party’s flag to pilot the party activities to greatness.
